I’m delighted to share that our new album, Cantata (re)mixed for Four Hands, is now out on Athene Records!
Following our previous album, (ré)inventions à deux pianos, Yulia and I continue our exploration of Bach’s music, this time through arrangements of excerpts from his cantatas and chorale preludes.
Playing piano four hands is a deeply collaborative experience: two musicians, one instrument, and a great deal of trust. Our partnership began during our student years at the Royal Northern College of Music, and this recording brought us back to Manchester in October 2025.
I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who helped bring this project to life, especially our producer James Cardell-Oliver, Athene Records, First Inversion and designer Ruth Lorang.
As Freya Parr wrote in BBC Music Magazine:
“A natural symbiosis underpins the partnership.”
I hope you enjoy listening to Cantata (re)mixed for Four Hands as much as we enjoyed making it!
